TThanks. So do iPads just open a PDF rather than downloading it? Are iPads in general able to download and install malicious files? I keep reading they don't get viruses but don't understand why this is. I'm a pc user learning about iPads!!!
Firefox includes a download protection feature to protect you from malicious or potentially harmful file downloads. If Firefox has blocked an unsafe download, you will see a warning message about the file in the Downloads panel, along with options for handling the pending download. You can open the Downloads panel to view completed and pending downloads by clicking on the Downloads button (the down arrow on your toolbar). See the articles Where to find and manage downloaded files in Firefox and How does built-in Phishing and Malware Protection work? for more information.
If downloading certain file types does not work, check to make sure Firefox is not set to handle those file types differently from others. See Manage file types and download actions in Firefox for instructions on how to view and change how different file types are handled.
Internet security software, including firewalls, antivirus programs, anti-spyware programs, and others can block certain file downloads. Check the settings in your security software to see if there is an setting that may be blocking downloads.

Clicking on these ads will usually send you to a phishing site. On these sites, scammers try to trick you into giving up your personal or financial information. The site might ask you to provide your name, address, passwords to online accounts, or even your Social Security number to help protect your iPhone from a virus. If you provide this information, the criminals behind these sites can use it to access your online accounts or take out loans or credit cards in your name.
Certain conditions on your computer, such as security settings or browser cookies, can prevent the Acrobat Reader Installer from downloading. An unstable Internet connection can prevent you from downloading from other websites. Try downloading a file from another website, such as www.microsoft.com, www.apple.com, or www.mozilla.com. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator, help desk resource, or Internet service provider (ISP). See Resolve an unstable Internet connection to the Adobe website or FTP site for details.
Video card manufacturers frequently update their software drivers. If you haven't recently updated the video card driver, download an updated driver from the manufacturer's website. (To determine the manufacturer of a video card, view the card's properties in Device Manager.)

While getting a virus on an iPhone is hardly ever seen, there is another way it can happen. Apple devices update multiple times a year to keep the device safe from new viruses and bugs. Skipping an update can leave you and your device exposed to new viruses.
It's always a good idea to be cautious about the risk of viruses and other malware, but when it comes to your iPhone, you don't have much to worry about. Dionisio Zumerle, senior director at research firm Gartner, sums it up this way: "The chances of catching malware on Android go from 0.05 to 0.71 percent. I would say that the percentage for iOS would be even lower than that, making the risk of iOS malware fairly low today." 2ff7e9595c
