I was able to find lots of info about sending notes and instrument data but nothing really about sysex. I have played with the Sanford reference which seemed to get me closer but still nothing about Sysex usage.

There are two synth leads in Polish Girls, and both of them make use of pitch-bending to create smooth, gliding melodies. Ketron Vega, like many other synthesizers launched by the company, has a 64-note polyphony, a 32-part multitimbrality and 61 velocity sensitive keys. The left part of the keyboard locates the wheels of unusual shape: the joystick for pitch/modulation. At the top of the instrument you can find quite an extensive control set, including a backlit display with dimensions of 240x128. On the screen you can see the main information (name, instrument, faders, etc.).
On a design angle, the speakers sit very subtly on my desk and entertainment center. They are never overwhelming or distracting, and since most of my office is black (as I am super goth) they fit in very nicely. I set them up on my entertainment center in my living room where they also blended into the surroundings well. They definitely made their presence known, though, at every fantastic explosion or fighter jet sound (note: I only watch Top Gun ever).
The main loop will listen to key presses and handle them, note that the way the LEDs are handled is identical to theprevious post, so this will not be discussed here again (that part has been removed in the block below for readability).The first thing that is done is loop over all buttons and check if they are pressed, if they are we set pressed_keysto True. Next, we loop over pressed_keys and triggered_keys and check for keys which are pressed downand have not triggered a MIDI signal. If that is the case, the Note On signal is send and triggered_keys set toTrue. The line midi.send([NoteOn(a, 60) for a in note_mapping[ix]]) will send the event for all noteslinked with that button. The velocity, the number 60, here is constant as there is no way to check how hard/fasta button was pressed.
Keys which are no longer pressed down and which are still in a triggered state require a Note Off signal tobe emitted, this is done similarly to setting a Note On with midi.send([NoteOff(a, 0) for a in note_mapping[ix]]).Here triggered_keys is set to False for the released button.
If everything is properly working, the Pi Pico should now show up as a MIDI device in software that can work with MIDI controller. In Piano10 click the MIDI button and select the Pico as the input device as shown below.Once you start pressing keys, Piano10 will highlight the notes played on the on-screen keyboard and play thesound.

Funny thing about making this midi-class servo for the X-MAXX is we're already known for producing the most bad ass standard-size servo available. This, in the form of the DS1155BLHV below. However, just as it's said you can't be too rich, or too thin, turns out you can't have too much power in an X-MAXX. Point being, for some (and you know who you are), because 1155oz-in is still not enough, we tasked the team with doing one better. And we gave them an unlimited budget with which to try . . . and no restrictions whatsoever. None!
Anyway, late one night (because several of us stayed after work keeping an eye on a shop bitch about to lay puppies and yes, whiskey may have been involved), as we eyeballed her swollen belly while musing about how many she'd pop out it dawned on us how we 'might' could possibly fit the monster motor into a midi-size frame.
In short, by using the mega-class motor from our DS2685BLHV, we've come up with an idea for a whole new class of servos. Fitting between standard-size and mega-size, this midi-size servo is our very best for the Traxxas X-MAXX.
Items of note within this servo obviously include the massive motor out of the DS2685, which is what provides plenty of motive force. Claims the Earth slows down when this servo is deployed are flat out false . . . but it is truly a powerhouse. Note how it dwarfs the motor for the DS1155, quite a difference, eh? 2ff7e9595c
